In Conversation : Xyza Cruz Bacani in M+ Museum, Hong Kong

Xyza Cruz Bacani's upcoming event, "Creating Out of Tenderness: A Conversation with Xyza Cruz Bacani" at The Forum, M+ Museum in Hong Kong, on 6 August from 2pm to 3.30pm.

 

As we navigate the emotions, isolation, and loss experienced during the past three years, Xyza Cruz Bacani explores the healing power of art in her personal journey. The artist leads us to witness how art can be a source of solace and self-expression in these challenging times.

 

Drawing from her experiences as a transnational citizen living between Hong Kong, the Philippines, and New York, Bacani's black-and-white photography has shed light on underrepresented communities and human rights issues. In this talk, she'll unveil her abstract paintings and installations as a means to meditate on her pandemic experiences. Discover how this interdisciplinary approach brings forth healing and daydreaming, as Bacani seeks tenderness and hope in our world. Her recent commissions have been instrumental in leading her towards this goal.
